UK 2006
Ten delightful days with my
daughter touring London and the Highlands of Scotland
- May 26th through June 4th -
INVERNESS, SCOTLAND
The River Ness divides the city as it winds its way to the famous Loch
Ness.
THE TRAFFORD BANK GUEST HOUSE
This delightful 5-star bed & breakfast was within easy walking
distance
of the center of Inverness and our favorite restaurants.
Our hosts, Lorraine Freel and Koshal Pun, left lucrative London careers
to open what is indisputably the finest guest house in the region.
Lorraine was raised in Inverness,
where her dad -- now semi-retired -- pastored the local Baptist church
for many years.
Her mum (shown here) was kind enough to stop by most mornings during
our stay
to make the most amazing scones for our breakfast.
And speaking of breakfast, I managed to test the limits of my capacity
each morning:
juice, fruit, porridge, eggs topped with smoked salmon, local sausage,
haggis, savory potato pancakes, scones, and coffee. I told myself I'd
walk it off later.
If only.
The Highlands are a beautiful part of Scotland,
and The Trafford Bank Guest House
is the ideal place to return to after a long day of sightseeing.
It comes with my strongest recommendation.
